I didn’t choose fitness. It chose me.
I became a trainer because I wanted to help people stay alive—literally. I’ve seen how illness, depression, disease, obesity, and stress can steal life from the people we love. I’ve also seen how movement, strength, and support can bring it back.
My mission is simple: to help people and families create a better lifestyle. I want them to feel stronger, more confident, and more connected in their bodies and in their lives. I believe fitness is about more than muscle. It’s about healing mentally, emotionally, and spiritually too.
I studied computer science in college. My career was supposed to look very different.
Then one day at the YMCA, a classmate who worked there asked me to lead a class. I didn’t overthink it. I just said yes.
Five people showed up. The next week the room was full. The week after that, they asked me to add another class. The momentum was real.
That experience cracked something open in me. I could feel it — this was the direction I was supposed to move in. I stepped into a purpose I didn’t even know I had until that moment.
That one class led to something much bigger.
I started getting asked to sub for other instructors. Then I was leading my own programs. People were showing up, and not just for a workout. They were showing up for support, accountability, and guidance. I took that seriously.

I believe fitness is about connection. Not perfection.
It’s not about chasing unrealistic goals. It’s about progress that lasts. It’s about being consistent with the body you have, while building the strength and confidence you want.

I believe God gave me a gift. Not just to train, but to teach. To guide. To lift people up when they feel stuck or discouraged.
Being a personal trainer gives me joy. It gives me purpose. And it gives me the chance to help someone become who they were always meant to be.

As a trainer and movement teacher myself, I find it hard to carve out time for my own health and fitness goals. I met and began to work with Brandon in the last year and he’s helped me to place myself as a priority. I have been working with Brandon Sistrunk as my personal trainer three times weekly for two years, both in person at a gym and virtually from home. From our first meeting onward, Brandon has been not only the consummate professional but also a real pleasure to work with. At the outset, we set objectives that were appropriate for my age (early 70s) but also ambitious. As we then started working together, I quickly came to appreciate that Brandon is the perfect combination of guiding, pushing, and cheerleading. By guiding, I mean that our sessions are always well-planned as we cycle through upper and lower body, core, balance, strength, and endurance. At the same time, Brandon easily adjusts the day’s routine if I mention a particular area that might be sore. When I look back over the last two years, I am amazed by how much progress we’ve made together. I am able to do workouts now that I couldn’t have imagined doing when we began. And that’s the result of Brandon’s long-term plan to challenge me with more intense exercises and longer intervals. But at the same time, he’s pushing me to work harder, Brandon is also cheering me on, which of course motivates me to try even harder for him. That we both have a sense of humor certainly helps in this regard. Laughing together helps a lot. In summary, I really can’t imagine a personal trainer who would suit me better than Brandon. He’s accomplished the nearly impossible—I actually look forward to our workouts!

I have had the most amazing success working with Brandon as my personal trainer these last 6 months. I came in with a few goals set for myself and I have accomplished them all and after 2 months of our fitness training together. Brandon is the most patient, kind, and understanding person as a trainer and as an individual who wants nothing, but the best for you and for your well-being. Brandon has helped me refine my approach to workouts, fitness, nutrition, confidence, and overall motivation to my lifestyle change. The results have been some weight loss and tightness of my body just quickly after 2 months and am loving every minute of the transformation. I am one of those people who hate working out and need an accountability partner. Since I’ve started working with Brandon, he’s been there every step of the way to checking on you outside of the gym, sending you meal plans, workout routines, flexible when it comes to your schedule, makes the workouts enjoyable, and gives you motivational support. I am only able to work-out with him twice a week and could not believe the drastic changes my body has made thus far. I have seen so much muscle definition in my stomach and glutes just after 2-3 months and feel like I have much more energy throughout the day. By offering support, encouragement, lots of laughs and regular butt kickings throughout our workouts, Brandon has helped me transform my body and my life.
